Title:  Looking East on NPs Butte Short Line
Description:  NPs Butte Short Line snakes its way over Homestake Pass. Completed in 1890 the line branched off NPs main line at Logan & terminated in Butte. The line was intended to carry coal to Butte & Anaconda from mines in Red Lodge but served primarily as the passenger main line after 1895. NPs famed North Coast Limited Passenger Train was part of this line BN ended passenger service on the line in 1979 then stopped all use of the line in 1983.
